Why general dentists refer to MFE

Surgical microscope on every case

Every procedure at every MFE location is performed under surgical microscope magnification. Up to 25x magnification means better canal identification, cleaner outcomes, and fewer complications returned to your chair.

3D CBCT on the vast majority of cases

Routine 3D cone-beam CT imaging before treatment means we see anatomy your 2D X-rays cannot show – missed canals, crack extent, periapical lesion size and location. Better diagnosis means better outcomes.

Detailed treatment reports

You receive a detailed treatment report the same business day in most cases, covering the patient encounter, any treatment provided, significant findings, and our recommendations.

Same-day urgent availability

When a patient presents with acute pain or dental trauma, we accommodate same-day and next-day consultations across all our locations. Call us before sending the patient, and we coordinate from there.

Coverage across Central Florida

With multiple MFE offices across Central Florida, wherever your patients live there is a specialist nearby. We handle the routing – you just pick the location most convenient for them.

We return patients to you

We are specialists, not competitors. Our role ends when endodontic treatment is complete. Every patient is returned to you for final restoration with a clear handoff report.

What happens after you refer a patient

Our referral process is designed to be frictionless for your practice and reassuring for your patient.

Referral received

Fax your referral to the nearest MFE location or submit via the online referral form. Include X-rays or CBCT if available.

Patient scheduled

Our team contacts the patient directly to schedule. For urgent referrals, same-day appointments are our priority.

Comprehensive evaluation with 3D CBCT

The patient is seen by one of our endodontic specialists. A 3D CBCT scan is taken on the vast majority of cases before treatment begins.

Treatment performed under microscope

All treatment is performed under surgical microscope magnification. The patient receives detailed post-operative instructions.

Treatment report to your office

You receive a comprehensive written treatment report the same business day as the procedure in most cases.

Patient returns to you

We explicitly instruct every patient to return to your office for their final permanent restoration within 30 days of treatment.

Some dental insurance plans require a written referral from the patient’s general dentist for specialist visits to be covered.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you see my referred patient?

For routine referrals we typically schedule within 3–5 business days. For urgent referrals with acute pain or dental trauma, we prioritize same-day and next-day availability.

Do I need to send X-rays with the referral?

X-rays are helpful but not required. We take our own updated radiographs at the appointment.

When will I receive the treatment report?

Treatment reports are sent the same business day in most cases. At most within 24 hours, or the next business day if before a weekend or holiday.

Do you perform any restorative work on referred patients?

No. Mid-Florida Endodontics performs endodontic treatment only. Every patient is instructed to return to your office for final restoration.

What if a patient comes to you without a referral?

Patients in acute pain are welcome to contact us directly. We recommend they establish care with a general dentist and provide the treatment report for continuity.
