Accessibility commitment
Accessibility Statement.
Our commitment to making midfloridarootcanals.com usable by every patient and referring dentist, including those who rely on assistive technology.
Document body
Mid-Florida Endodontics is committed to making midfloridarootcanals.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We design and build our website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA: the technical standard recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and most enterprise accessibility programs.
Effective date: April 25, 2026
Our commitment
Accessibility is an ongoing, organization-wide responsibility: not a one-time project. We treat accessibility as a quality-of-care issue: every patient should be able to find a location, request an appointment, read about their treatment, and contact us, regardless of how they use the web.
What we have done
Built-in accessibility
- Semantic HTML throughout, with proper heading structure, landmarks, and ARIA attributes where needed.
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Color contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI elements).
- Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information; decorative images are explicitly marked so screen readers can skip them.
- Forms include programmatic labels, clear error messaging, and predictable behavior.
- The site respects the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting and disables non-essential animation when that preference is set. - The interactive locations map has a keyboard-accessible text alternative listing every office with address and phone.
Accessibility Tools panel
Every page includes a custom Accessibility Tools panel, opened from the floating button in the lower-right corner. The panel is fully keyboard-accessible and saves your preferences in your browser between visits.
Quick-access profiles: one click applies a coordinated set of features tuned for that need:
- Vision Impaired
- ADHD Friendly
- Cognitive Disability
- Older Adults
- Keyboard Navigation
Individual feature toggles: each of these can be turned on or off independently:
- Text size adjustment (default, larger, largest)
- High-contrast mode
- Dark contrast mode
- Monochrome mode
- Dyslexia-friendly font
- Pause animation
- Underline links
- Highlight titles
- Highlight focus
- Hide images
- Big cursor
- Reading guide
Multilingual support
A Spanish-language switcher is available in the header on every page for visitors who prefer Spanish.
Responsive and assistive-tech ready
The site is built mobile-first and tested at viewports from 320px upward, with content that reflows cleanly at 200% browser zoom.
Standards we target
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
Our site is designed and tested for compatibility with current versions of:
- Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, on desktop and mobile.
- Screen readers: JAWS and NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, TalkBack on Android.
- Voice control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking and built-in Voice Control on macOS and iOS.
- Other: screen magnifiers, high-contrast viewing modes, and keyboard-only navigation.
Known limitations
Honest disclosure of areas we are still working on:
- Embedded third-party content. Components such as Google Maps and the Google Translate widget have their own accessibility characteristics that are partially outside our control. We select third-party providers with accessibility in mind and advocate for accessibility improvements where we have a relationship with the vendor.
- Older blog posts. Some legacy posts in our archive may have images without optimal alt text. We are working through the archive to bring older content up to current standards.
- PDF documents. Some printable documents: for example, our printable referral form: may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible alternative, please contact us using the information below and we will provide one.
Conformance assessment
This statement is based on a self-assessment by our internal team. We have not commissioned a third-party certification, and we do not claim one.
